Amos Kimunya replaces Duale as National Assembly majority leader

MP Amos Kimunya has replaced Garissa Township MP Aden Duale as National Assembly majority leader.
This was announced during a Jubilee Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi Monday morning.
Eldas MP Adan Keynan was elected the new Jubilee PG secretary.
The meeting was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the Jubilee Party leader, and his deputy William Ruto.
JUBILEE AGENDA
Mr Kimunya, in his acceptance remarks, said that he will work to push the agenda of the Jubilee administration in the National Assembly. He also rebuffed claims that Jubilee Party is a divided house.
“There are no rebels in the Jubilee party. We do not have Jubilee “A” or “B”. I intend to cultivate one Jubilee driving one agenda,” Mr Kimunya said.
He added, “The MPs made the changes because they felt it was needed.”
On his part, Mr Keynan said he will ensure the President’s agenda succeeds.
“Politics is so dynamic. But ours is to ensure that the Jubilee agenda in the House succeeds by working with the leadership, the MPs and the party members,” Mr Keynan said.
The meeting was also attended by Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju and 174 Jubilee Coalition members of the National Assembly.
And in a press statement, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo said that changes in the composition of House Committees will be communicated to the Speaker of the National Assembly by Thursday.

A resurfaced video shows Jimmy Kimmel laughing as Megan Fox talks about being sexualized at 15, and fans are saying she 'deserved better'

Michael Bay  and late-night host  Jimmy Kimmel  are being criticized after  Megan Fox 's 2009 interview on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" resurfaced on Twitter on Saturday. During the interview, Fox told Kimmel about her first time working with Bay as an extra on the 2003 film "Bad Boys II" when she was 15 years old. She recalled wearing a stars-and-stripes bikini, a red cowboy hat, and six-inch heels — an outfit that she said Bay approved himself. Because she was 15 at the time and couldn't legally hold a drink or sit at the bar during the movie's club scene, Bay came up with an alternative plan. Black Lives Matter: Protesters march on London as scuffles break out in Glasgow

Thousands of people across the country have gathered for Black Lives Matters (BLM) protests, as demonstrations continue for the fourth weekend in the row. Scores of protesters assembled at Speakers' Corner in London's Hyde Park, while a separate group marched from Vauxhall en route to Parliament Square. In Guernsey, as the island lifts social distancing measures, hundreds attended protests in honour of George Floyd, whose death sparked international outrage. Glasgow’s Say No to Racism event, which was twinned with World Refugee Day, was largely peaceful, despite a large police presence on George Square and minor scuffles. Elsewhere, in Scotland a protest was held at the statue of Henry Dundas, who delayed the abolition of the slave trade, at St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. Peaceful protests have similarly been held in Manchester and Birmingham this weekend.
